When Senior Search Consultant Cori Centerino first joined Jackson Physician Search back in 2021, she was assigned to a longtime client located just outside the St. Louis metro area, where she lived. The community hospital had worked with Jackson Physician Search since 2012, and Cori was honored to take over the relationship from her mentor, Regional Vice President of Recruiting Tara Osseck. The two women visited the facility to introduce its leadership to Cori and touch base about their current needs. Cori dove into the task and has been consistently delivering results ever since.

Cori’s recent successes demonstrate the power of their partnership. Early in 2024, Cori made a recommendation that led to a celebrated GI placement. Shortly after that recruitment win, the organization asked her to find a family medicine physician who could lead a team of APPs and simultaneously see a full caseload. Dr. E was happy to receive her note. A seasoned physician, he worked as a medical director at an urgent care center in Michigan and saw hospice patients at home. He was looking for a position with a more traditional scope of practice and a better work-life balance. The four-day schedule with Cori’s client appealed to him, as did the scope of practice. 

Cori knew from their first conversation that Dr. E was a strong candidate. She presented him to the client, and things moved quickly from there. Over the years, Cori and the health system worked together to streamline the recruitment process, including the on-site visit. These efforts helped reduce the length of time between a candidate applying for a job and that same candidate accepting an offer, a healthcare recruiting metric known as time-to-hire. From the day Cori presented Dr. E, it took fewer than 60 days to get him under contract.

California ENT Looks to Relocate Back Home

Meanwhile, the organization identified a need for an ENT job search. They officially opened the search with Cori in early November. Thanks to her thorough knowledge of the organization, she could move quickly. Upon posting the job, she immediately searched the database for strong candidates. In a matter of days, she presented Dr. M. He was working locum tenens jobs in California but actively looking for a permanent position in the Midwest, where he and his wife were from. He already held an Illinois license and would be able to start quickly. Cori knew this would appeal to her client. 

Once again, thanks to an efficient internal hiring process, things moved quickly. The client arranged for Dr. M to interview on-site and experience the community. Cori made recommendations based on what she had learned about the couple. The visit went well, and Dr. M left with an offer. After some back-and-forth, he signed, bringing the total length of the search to just 48 days.

The ongoing success of this partnership is due to multiple factors. First, Cori (and before her, Tara) works closely with the CEO and other leaders at the hospital. She is deeply familiar with the organization’s culture and what they look for in candidates.
